Windermere

If you came to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and gorgeous weather, you might want to park your flip flops in the direction of Windermere. Literally surrounded by sand bottom lakes, it’s no wonder why celebrities like Tiger Woods choose to call Windermere home.

The city still embraces a cozy small-town look and feel with plenty of dirt roads and white concrete posts for street signs. Homes in Windermere are specifically designed to reflect the natural beauty of their surroundings, with magnificent views and exquisite architecture.

Neighborhood Scout chose Windermere as the best town in Florida for families with children (obviously, having Mickey Mouse very close to home is probably a big plus as well.) The luxurious Mall at Millenia boasts anchor stores such as Bloomingdales, Louis Vitton, Gucci, Chanel and Jimmy Choo. Also nearby is the IKEA home showcase store with Scandinavian modern style furniture and accessories— don’t leave without trying the Swedish meatballs in the lobby downstairs.

Located near the famous Isleworth, an invitation-only country club and golf club resort, as well as the pristine Butler Bay subdivision, Windermere visitors are sure to enjoy the breathtaking surroundings so much, they just may partake in the beauty and community permanently. Windermere’s biggest draw is the Butler Chain of Lakes which encompasses eleven pristine lakes perfect for boating or fishing. Lake Butler, Lake Tibet, Lake Down, Lake Sheen, Lake Louise, Lake Chase, Pocket Lake, Lake Blanche, Wauseon Bay, Lake Isleworth, and Little Fish Lake.
